Verloren/Lost

Verloren
in landschappen
van verlangen,
laat ik vlinders sterven
in de vale dageraad,
om mij te omhullen
met fragmenten
van onmogelijkheden.

—————————

Lost
in landscapes
of desire,
I let butterflies die
in the pale dawn,
to wrap myself
with fragments
of impossibilities.

  3. Dear Francina, butterflies are beautiful but delicate and are gone all too soon … but the possibilities (and impossibilities – which are, after all, simply possibilities not attempted) of life are infinite… we only have to lift our wings and fly. May 2013 see all our wings soar through the endless skies of life! Happy New Year, dear Francina! ~ Love, Julie xoxox

  5. Op jacht naar buikvlinders

ze loopt verloren in een hemels labyrint
    de wanden zijn
    van vage schijn
als een fatamorgana die dromen verslindt

Hoe verloren kan een mens zijn, Francina?

Weer een pareltje van een gedicht!

      groetjes, Francina

  6. There a bitterness here I can’t deny… or is this the other side of the medal? X

  7. We males are different in behavior. We ask and sometimes we reach our goal. Dear Francina, do not wait, do not waste time, life escapes from the hands of those who can not take chances. Be bold, ask and you shall receive. Kisses and a beautiful and Happy New Year. Nice poem anyway.

    1. Grazie Mille, Giuseppe.
I agree with you on all counts. And yes, life is all about change and offered chances, very true. However life is also about choices we make and sometimes we have to make another choice than we might have wanted, just to stay true to ourselves. For there is always the mirror we have to face every morning.
      Felice Anno Nuovo!
      A Presto,
      Francina

  8. Dear Francine,

My little rhymes are always so straight forward.
I always have to reread yours over and over to understand their meaning.
But perhaps yours are meant to be interpreted as the reader wants.

So I see lost opportunities. But as with a butterfly and its different stages of growth, life is always offering something new……and perhaps better.

    1. Dear Meme,
The beauty of poetry is that we all have our own voice when writing. Your poems are a delight to read and your songs always brighten my day!
The way I write has a great deal to do with the fact that English is not my native language. I had to find a way around that handicap so I would not hurt the reader’s eyes with too many grammar iffies. 🙂 I was very lucky to end up in a circle of excellent poets, who were so kind to take me under their wings when I started to write and they have helped me immensely and still do when I have an oopsy with the grammar which would be way beyond my poetic license.

And yes there are always more opportunities indeed , I agree on that 🙂
Have a fabulous 2013 and may your muse inspire you evermore.
      Hugs, Francina
